In this concentration piece I wanted to focus on improving on my figure drawing skills. So far into the year I mainly drew female dancers and I wanted to show some variety in my work so I decided to paint a male dancer and challenge myself as an artist. In this piece I used cake water color as my medium. I also really enjoy drawing and painting animals so I wanted to incorporate that interest into my artwork. I decided to paint a tiger to symbolize a dancer letting go and putting their emotions into their craft. I wanted to portray a dancer going back to their most basic instincts. It relates to a dancers raw talent and letting go in their dancing.
